Fake tanning for the weekend!

Wednesday, 6 March 2013

I upped my fake tan dosage!
I used to use the bottle on the left by St Tropez

Which I can only say good things about, however it was getting a bit cot ineffective as it took about 4 applications to get the desired colour, which is ideal if you want to wear a natural tan every day but I often wear fake tan in preparation for events such as weddings or holidays... So I was recommended that the best thing to do would be to get the shade darker (the darkest shade, they only have two shades of the mousse, which is the bottle on the right) so that it would require fewer applications to get the desired shade of skin!

I'm on my third consecutive application and I woke up a bit frightened of my tangerine reflection, but thankfully it washed of to make me just look healthy!

Maybe the best thing about St Tropez mousse is no nasty scents!

Hooray for the weekend wedding!

A day of sweetness

Tuesday, 24 July 2012

I was caught off guard with the heat and since I'm staying away from home at the moment I had to make the best of what I had with me which was...jeans
Here I did a little improvisation and rolles the jeans up to mid-calf to give them a fresh summery look. These jeans are my trusty pastel pair that I have blogged about before many times, I got them from the kids section in Next

I matched it with my well-loved 'chocolate box' tshirt, it reminds me of fancy chocolate boxes because of the fancy ribbons!

To sweeten it up a little more and add more colours I'm wearing my triple pastel belt from New Look and it has all the sweetest colours in it!

The sweetness doesn't stop there, for dessert that night we had chocolate mousse with a deliciously chocolatey base that's all biscuity and crumbly

...and a little box of heart chocolates and an umbrella chocolate! I think the umbrella is the funniest, what a random shape to decide to make a chocolate!

Now as you can imagine I'm bouncing off the walls in this sticky heat on a suagr rush!

Tanning Time Line!

Wednesday, 27 June 2012

A little while back you may have read that I invested in some St Tropez fake tan, it was an investment for me at something like £17 a pop, but thankfully I was not let down!

I am a very milky white skin toned sort of girl naturally so when I pumped this foam out onto my (gloved) palm I was a little horrified that it was the shade of dark chocolate! I didn't want to look like I'd been rolling around in chocolate, but luckily as long as I rubbed in and blended out it's still a gradual build tan that actually worked on my skin (the other gradual build moisturiser ones never worked on my skin and didn't really absorb in)

I usually do about four days of applying, then I get to the shade where I don't want to go any darker because it will look unnatural and then skip the tanning for 3 days for it to fade back down, and work in motions like that.

I took a snippet every day, unfortunately not at the same time every day so the lighting goes a bit whack and makes me look more (or in some cases) less tanned than I actually looked in real life.

But here it is:

My Top tips:
Victoria Secret Plum body scrub all over before you apply the fake tan
The Sanctuary foot scrub especially for my feet

Any ol' body moisturiser (I have too many, and rarely use body moisturiser) for the elbows, feet and knees
and a face moisturiser (I like the Simple one)

Gloves on your hands! This stuff stains baybay, I washed my hands immediately after application and four hours later and they still looked utterly Tangoed!
