Rainy nights and the most beautiful stamp!

 I just have to show you the prettiest stamp! I think it is especially for Valentines day or something, but it has clusters of poppies all over it!

Outside looks kind of pretty too, although really it was raining so it was less fun to actually be there than it is to look at here, this is one of the pictures that I don't want to jump into!

I HEART your corset

So you're going to:

a) Alice in Wonderland Fancy Dress party
b) Tea party
c) Relax in the garden?

and you have a:
a) Few packs of playing cards
b) Ribbon
c) Hole punch
d) Staple/Glue gun


Then you can join in on this crafty creation!

-Get a willing model (the same size as you) and shape the cards around their torso
-Staple or glue gun the cards as you go, be careful not to injure your willing model
-Try and keep the cards in line for a neat patterns, or if you don't mind a 'scattered' look then attach the cards with less care and more haste
-Don't join the cards to fully meet in a circle so that the whole torso is covered as you need a gap about the width of a playing card to thread the ribbon
-Remove the corset of cards and evenly hole punch down the side
-Thread through a red ribbon

Wallah!

If you're feeling brave, you could try and master a skirt too!

Top tip:
You can buy playing cards super cheap from charity shops (literally pennies!)
You can create a theme by only using cards from on suit, but then you'll need more cards!
Wear a strapless cotton top underneth your corset for comfort, the edges can be sharp (and modesty incase any cards tear!)

The cards we're dealt in life

This is the way that I like to look at things, when it seems as though everything is turning horrible and into mulchy goo on the ground.

I think of the ups and downs we handle, like a pack of cards.
When we were born we were handed a pack of cards- bigger than the 52-deck-kind that we get on Earth, some cards immediately make us happy, like the Aces- but in a pack of cards so big they can't all be Aces!
You've got to deal with the less great cards too, like the 2 of Spades.

And sometimes it seems like we've been handed a lot of successive rubbish cards, but that streak is going to end sooner or later- then we get back to the wonderful cards, like Queens, Kings, Aces.

You have some cards that are great and impact your whole life forever, long after that part of your life is over and the card has been tossed away: Like getting your dream job!

But of course, some cards impact your life forever for the worse long after they're gone too: Like someone you care dearly about no longer being part of your life.

But the great thing about cards is that it's all down to chance! You choose how you play your cards.
So you're faced with a four of clubs, and you're here thinking -what am I going to do with THIS? You can make whatever you want of it, but are you going to bail out of playing?
No Sir-ee!
You're going to keep on playing and make the best of what cards you do have!

So you might be thinking 'But I know people who seem to have only been dealt Kings and Aces'
This is another concept in card playing known as 'bluffing' no one, but no one is dealt a whole deck of the best cards, you best believe everyone is dealing with crummy cards because there's no avoiding it in a pack of cards so big. Perhaps they've just played their cards right, and made the best of the rubbish ones to prolong the effects of the 'best' cards

Mid weeks are hard, Mondays are hard- Every day is hard!
But just keep playing, just keep dealing with the card in front of you treasure the lucky streaks and persevere with the unlucky ones.

It's Valentines day!!

Maybe cupid has struck you with a bow, maybe you've sent a secret card to someone else- I hope that it works out wonderfully for you!
I found out about some fun Valentines day traditions that made me smile, and I hope they do you too.

Hundreds of years ago in England, many children dressed up as adults on Valentine's Day. They went singing from home to home. One verse they sang was:
Good morning to you, valentine;
Curl your locks as I do mine ---
Two before and three behind.
Good morning to you, valentine.

In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their valentines would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To wear your heart on your sleeve now means that it is easy for other people to know how you are feeling.

I thought this card was so funny, I got it from Paperchase! But I think it says a valid point too, if we have no one to love on valentines day, who better to love than ourselves!?
