Trying to glitz and glam my phone - DIY

Tuesday, 14 May 2013

After my attempt at customising my Furby was a complete success - in my humble opinion:

I tried to use the very same gems to glitz up my phone. It turned out less than good...

The gems are uneven, and two or three have dropped off already. I suppose low quality gems are useful for some things like Furby's which are used delicately  but phones have to go through a lot more daily wear and tear so I suppose my phone really had no hope!

Ah well,
if you want to customise your own Furby check out my last video where I show you the low-down...

It's a pre-Christmas treat!

Candy Pink Secret crafts!

Sunday, 19 August 2012

I've opened my eyes to the joys of spray paint and how great they are in crafting projects, it's almost as fun to pick a spray can colour as it is to pick out a eyeshadow or lipstick but maybe a little less colour choice.

I settled on a baby sized can of what's called 'HOT PINK'
but I sure hope it comes out a 'sweet pink'

I have a sweet lil' idea in mind of how to put this to good use and if things go well I'll film and upload it aswell as doing a picture tutorial for here too!

If you're intrigued I'll give you a clue it involves plastic candy jars, masking tape and of course the most exciting part the spray paint!

If it's a craft-tastrophe... well I'll probably blog about tha too! haha

I HEART your corset

Sunday, 15 April 2012

So you're going to:

a) Alice in Wonderland Fancy Dress party
b) Tea party
c) Relax in the garden?

and you have a:
a) Few packs of playing cards
b) Ribbon
c) Hole punch
d) Staple/Glue gun

Then you can join in on this crafty creation!

-Get a willing model (the same size as you) and shape the cards around their torso
-Staple or glue gun the cards as you go, be careful not to injure your willing model
-Try and keep the cards in line for a neat patterns, or if you don't mind a 'scattered' look then attach the cards with less care and more haste
-Don't join the cards to fully meet in a circle so that the whole torso is covered as you need a gap about the width of a playing card to thread the ribbon
-Remove the corset of cards and evenly hole punch down the side
-Thread through a red ribbon

Wallah!

If you're feeling brave, you could try and master a skirt too!

Top tip:
You can buy playing cards super cheap from charity shops (literally pennies!)
You can create a theme by only using cards from on suit, but then you'll need more cards!
Wear a strapless cotton top underneth your corset for comfort, the edges can be sharp (and modesty incase any cards tear!)
