Before I speak
T-is it truthful?
H-is it helpful?
I-is it inspiring?
N-is it necessary?
K-is it kind?
Imagine if the world took these steps every day before we spoke, what a wonderful world we would live in! Full of kindness and honesty and a world where everyone motivates eachother, believes in eachother and inspires eachother.
Imagine what we could achieve in a world like this, how far we could all go and the wonderfullness that would blossom out of each and every person.
Perhaps someone has sprung to your mind while reading this, someone who does not follow any of these steps and is a grey cloud darkening your day.
Please know that just because they are acting that way towards you or maybe many people, it doesn't mean you have to pass it on. I know it can be hard and negativity can be super contagious but as long as in your heart you wash your hands of the things that they say each day then you are stunting the overcrowding of rainclouds that they want lurking around.
People that don't t.h.i.n.k thrive off of the things that they say spreading through numerous people until a whole morale is pulled down. Remember that like when someone around you has a cold, you have to just keep on washing your hands to ensure it doesn't spread to you, keep on t.h.i.n.king before you speak and eventually they'll go away, just like that sickness bug that's been 'going around'
I saw this T.H.I.N.K quote on Pinterest, and I believe it should be hung up in every school and work environment everywhere!
What do you think?

Eat to be nourished
Exercise to be fit
I can't take credit for this quote but I sure think it's an important one. Especially at this time of year-it's apparently the most depressing month in regards to weight because we all wake up to the realisation that we've not been able to shift that 'Christmas weight'
When I think about the amount of people around us that are unhappy or want to lose weight, this quote is what always springs to mind, it's as though people need reminding (myself included!) That indeed it's not about being so skinny our bones can be seen through our skin, or going to bed with our stoamchs grumbling.
It's about doing a workout whether it's at the gym or in front of a workout show on the television because of that wonderful 'zing!' you feel running through your blood afterwards that means we're a little less puffed out once we get to the top of the stairs (or is that just me?)
It's about thinking 'I could eat this fried chicken or burger..... orrr..... I could eat a chicken sandwich with some tomatoes, salad, maybe a little mayo and pepper'
It's tough to fight against impulse but I think about how I'll feel afterwards and that makes the decision for me, not only is the fried chicken greasy, bad for my skin, salty and fatty- I'm also going to be hungry in a short space of time because there's no real 'substance' to junk food and it doesn't fill us up for long- so we technically have to eat more because of it!
Something like a sandwich has more to it and will keep us from falling asleep in the early evenings from low energy.
So remember if you or anyone you know is feeling misguided about where to go or what new fad to follow to improve confidence within their body: Eat to be nourished. Exercise to be fit

Every day may not be good...

...But there is something good in every day
Sometimes the day has been truly against us and we tie ourselves up in knots thinking about how it all seemed to go so wrong.
Sometimes we think about it so hard, that we can't even sleep and let a new day begin because we're wearing ourselves out thinking about yesterday.
Always look for the little things, even teeny tiny things that were good in your day, the little things that bring me joy on a bad day can be as simple as listening to something calm and beautiful like this:
While reflecting on all that has given me joy today, my list goes a little something like this:
The sight of my fairy lights glowing over my fireplace
A bath with so many bubbles
Being able to listen to the same song on repeat
Starting a new book
A mug of peppermint tea
My phone not running out of battery
The wonderfully inky night sky
Share with me something that has brought you joy today!
Sweet dreams (day or night) that allow us to escape to anywhere, if only for a moment!

Sad, mad or a just plain bad day?
Friday, 27 January 2012
Sometimes something happens at school, at work or at home between your boyfriend, bestfriend, mum, teacher, colleague, anyone! It might have been something that they said or did that just made you burn up inside, and now, the moment may have allowed them to move on and think nothing of their actions but we're still here, full of fury and clinging to it. When we fall into a spiral of anger towards another, suddenly everything that person has ever said or done can be manipulated into ammunition for another reason to be so mad at them.
We wrap ourselves up in ribbons and guess what? Absolutely nothing changes.
So let's not waste our time on anger towards people, or words that have hurt us, or something that made the balance of the world seem so unfair because dwelling on it allows for nothing to change.
Brush it away, right out of your hair, watch your burning anger disintegrate and float up into the sky until it is flecks of stardust shining down on us and lighting our way along a happier path.
Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessell in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured- Mark Twain
