♫ ♫ It was acceptable at the time! ♫ ♫

Wednesday, 25 April 2012

Okay, so my jewellery doesn't fall into the retro catagory yet, but judging by what I found I think it will only take another decade or so!

Since I moved house I have only unpacked the 'essential' bits of jewellery and just bought new bits since I've lived here, but last night I suddenly remembered that I had some earrings that were still packed up and wanted to get them out.
So after a lot of hunting, and cutting through various layers of newspaper and sellotape to hold my jewellery box together I found some beauties and some hideous-ies

I'm not sure what catagory some of them fall into so I'll show you and you can decide!

A Spongebob Squarepants locket, it came from Clairs Accesories I believe

I love this fun bow earring! I would never wear them as a  pair though as I thought that was too much going on with my head!

These are giant, like the gem is the size of a 5p coin, I liked them because they reminded me of cherry gum drops or wine gums and I kind of wanted to eat them up!

These were a present but I always thought they were cute, I used to think it would be a cool idea to get five holes pierced in my ears and have my name spelt out on my ear...er....yeah...that would have been 'super stylish' I'm sure...

And finally! My amazing charm bracelet I found! My sister got it for me and for birthdays and christmasses would get me a few more charms to add onto it. I forgot I had it so I wore it today and lots of people commented on even though it was old, it was still 'so me' I don' know if that's really a compliment through, my favourite charm is the chocolate bar on the end, I love that one!

What's your favourite?

Floral Thursday

Thursday, 15 March 2012

There's a spring in my step and a smell of springtime in the air!
So today I show you what I'm going to wear!
(hey that rhymes!)

For makeup:
Moisturiser on my cheeks
Primer on my nose, chin and forhead
Concealer under my eyes and under my nose
Well Dressed by Mac on my cheeks
Brown eyeliner on my waterline
Vaseline on my lips
Brow pencil

I wanted to feel fresh so I was wearing really light makeup- and it felt good!
Sometimes it's nice to go almost bare with your makeup!

For clothes:

Shirt: Floral shirt from New Look (But I got it from Red Cross charity shop for £3.50- woo!)
Bottom: I'm wearing a black pencil skirt from H&M- gotta love springtime formal-ish wear and opaque black tights

Jewellery:

Wooden and plastic beaded bracelet duo, also from New Look around 2 years ago!

Tired of untying necklace chains?

Thursday, 23 February 2012

I've been on the look out for a new way to store my jewellery for a long while now. Lots of my necklaces, bracelets and earrings are cheap, but huge or have long chains or chunky plastic parts, so often they look silly on those delicate jewellery holders and don't fit too well into jewellery boxes, unless I wanted a giant one to take up lots of floor space, which I certainly don't!Last Christmas, I got this pretty little bow holder from Fenwicks. (a department store)

But even this poor ol' thing is looking weighed down, and that's just a little portion of my jewellery, the rest is in various carrier bags in drawers that get forgotten about and never see the light of day!

With this dilemma in mind, you can only imagine how my heart skipped a beat when I saw what all this time I had been looking for!
A jewellery display piece and organiser that goes up on the wall!

Printers Drawer Jewelry Display

This one is advertised as perfect for displaying jewellery at art shows and exhibitions! They clearly don't know that one girls bedroom has enough clothes, jewellery and cosmetics to fill a whole store sometimes!

Teal, Vintage type drawer jewelry display, type drawer jewelry box, accessories storage, Unique Earring Holder, Gift for her

They come in all kinds of colours! Not just plain white or teal, you can get them in blues and purples, or if your nifty with a spray can or paintbrush, you could even re paint it yourself! I think a hot pink jewellery wall piece could be just the thing to work as something interesting visually and so super practical!

There are tons of variations of the same sort of thing, so head onto to www.etsy.com to browse around for one in your price bracket, your size and one that delivers to your country. Type in Jewellerry display or jewellery wall organiser and something along these lines will pop up.

Painted Jewellery Display Case- Hand Painted Shabby Chic Printer's Tray (Reproduction)

I like how this one has two hooks in some boxes, to hold those super special pairs of dangly earrings.

I sure hope your heart got excited at mine did at the prospect of something being so practical with the ability to look so decorative, jewellery decorates us after all, why not let it decorate our walls too when we're not using it!?
