Pretty in Pink Makeup Tutorial Urban Decay Naked Palette 3

Sunday, 16 February 2014

It's such a myth that pink eye shadows are tricky to wear, paired with the right colours and the right amount of blending it is such a gem to have in your arsenal!

This is my most recent look using pinks as a base

A little mini breakdown of what happened is as follows:
1.Eyeshadow base
2. Apply a matte white shade all over the lid
3. Apply a bronze pigment around the outer eye and the outer half of the crease
4. Apply a mild baby matte pink on the middle part of the eye
5. Run a white eyeshadow pencil along the inner corner of the eyes and blend with your finger
6. Apply the matte white shadow on the brow bone
7. Run a white eyeliner along the waterline
8. Use a brown gel liner along the upper lash line and the outer third of the lower lash line
9. Apply mascara
10. A slick of cute pink gloss

You are done!

If you are looking for a little more detail, and 3 and a half minutes - or so of fun, watch the tutorial here!

Bridesmaid Summer Wedding Manicure

Monday, 5 August 2013

As my sisters wedding is fast approaching, it's about time I tied all those little loose ends of jobs together. A few days before the wedding like today, made it the perfect day to test out what colour to wear on my nails, I've finally settled on Princesses Rule! By OPI
My advice when deciding what polish to wear is to do a little trial run, if it's between two colours, paint a different colour on each hand then hold the (dry) nails against the outfit that you are wearing to see which colour looks best!
I am wearing a bridesmaid dress that is a block colour, and I've decided these look the most feminine, and understatedly pretty when held against the dress!

It looks like subtle pink sparkle with one coat, but I ended up building it up to three coats to create a more opaque glitter finish. As for lasting, it leaves a lot to be desired, it will only look good for about one day and dents easily too. Here I've worn the colour for three days and the tops are all chipped and that was with a strengthening top coat, so be aware of that going into this. However, it looked neat and fresh for all of one day which is how long weddings last!

New Video: Summer Pink POP! Makeup Tutorial

Monday, 22 July 2013

Todays video is just perfect for Summer when you want to wear natural, mostly light products but a bit bright lip POW to jazz it all up a little and makek it look like you have made a real effort when actually it's taken you all of five minutes

I'm wearing eyeshadow colours all from the Urban Decay Vice palette but all you really need is a matte skin tone colour, a lighter gold and a darker gold colour!
For the lips you can wear any bright colour you want, I show a few swatches in the video, the Maybelline Colour stay in shade Pink or Peach Cocktail, I can't remember it's name and I don't think it says on it, a generic pink from a big makeup kit I got given ages ago, and a Revlon Lip butter because well we all love them!

Be brave and add a little pop to your makeup this summer!

Candy Pink Secret crafts!

Sunday, 19 August 2012

I've opened my eyes to the joys of spray paint and how great they are in crafting projects, it's almost as fun to pick a spray can colour as it is to pick out a eyeshadow or lipstick but maybe a little less colour choice.

I settled on a baby sized can of what's called 'HOT PINK'
but I sure hope it comes out a 'sweet pink'

I have a sweet lil' idea in mind of how to put this to good use and if things go well I'll film and upload it aswell as doing a picture tutorial for here too!

If you're intrigued I'll give you a clue it involves plastic candy jars, masking tape and of course the most exciting part the spray paint!

If it's a craft-tastrophe... well I'll probably blog about tha too! haha

Pinks and Browns ~ Eyeshadow Tutorial

Saturday, 4 August 2012

I've been playing around a lot with pinks at the moment, they have a reputation as a difficult colour to wear as eyeshadow, but I love them and find them really versatile making them easy to work with. I've tried pinks with greens, pinks with blues, pinks with whites and now pinks with browns. I think the key to avoid looking like you've got a bruise on your eyelid is to apply the pink slowly, build it up layer by layer. Another thing that makes a big difference is to make sure that you fully line your eyes on the top and lower lashline, otherwise your eyes can get kind of 'lost' and look smaller and maybe even make the eyes look a little tired.

Here's how it went down:
For the eyes-
Painterly Paint pot by MAC
Pale pink, Glamour Girl all over the eyelid by Fashionista
Bright pink, Brave eyeshadow on the outer corner of the eye by Fashionista
Dark brown, Folie along the crease, blended backwards and fowards by MAC
Shade 001 Time Resist White by L'oreal on the brown bone and inner corner of the eye
Brown gel eyeshadow along the top lashline by MAC
Folie by MAC along the lower lashline, so that it's not so harsh and heavy on the eyes
White eyeliner along the waterline - Fascination by MAC
Black Mascara by BareEscentuals

I finished it off with a frosted lip by using a pale pink Lovelorn by MAC and pressing Shade 001 Time Resist White by L'oreal in the centre of my lips and then pressing them together

Don't throw away your sweet wrappers!...

Monday, 27 February 2012

Wear them instead!!!

That's right, there are people that take recycling to a whooooole new level!
I give you...
The candy wrapper corset!

I'm not much of a corset wearer myself, but I might just make an exception for this one.
I can't quite decide if it's hobo-chic or sugary sweet though.
What do you think?

This one will set you back a pretty penny at £193.53 or $299 from here
But I'm pretty sure you could make one yourself providing you're willing to eat a few bags of sweets! I'm sure freinds will be willing to help with that.
Then preserve the wrappers and with a cheap corset (ebay) and a hot glue gun (craft store) you could put it together yourself for £10 or less!

You could go to a fancy dress party as a bag of sweets! With a little of everything you're sure to be everyones favourite!

I'm packing!

Friday, 10 February 2012

Probably one of my most least favourite things to do! I find it near on impossible to effectively gather everything I'll need for a week, into a limited space.
I've decided these are my top space saving tips!
-Bring one pair of versatile shoes (mine are my little ankle boots with a buckle, can be dressed up or down)
-Do not bring every makeup brush, I can double up uses for some if i think about it especially with eye shadow blending brushes
-Do not bring every eyeshadow, a neutral pallette can be adapted for night time, just add more of the dark colour and blend etc
-Do not bring every ring and necklace I own

...that's all I've got!

Here's a little peek at what I'm packing:

Clothes! Trying to strategiacally organise..

Magical Pink suitcase, unfortunately it doesn't sparkle in real life, but I had you thinking it did didn't I!?

Hair supplies, a few rings and a charm bracelet

Makeup! The complete essentials and only one lip colour! Body Shops Lip Tint

My makeup bag I've got to fit it all into! I love this thing because it's wipe clean fabric and there's sure to be an explosion somewhere along the way...

I maybe dislike packing mostly because then the morning of when you're leaving you think 'oh I need that hairbrush' then you remember 'oh darn it's in my bag' and have to use a awful comb you found in a drawer.
Then on the way to where you're heading you're sat there thinking 'Have i got everything?' 'I'm sure I forgot something'
I remember one time I forgot a headband, and I thought this would be no big deal- it turned out to be so irritating to not have one to wash my face at night time, and holding my hair back just got it all wet!
I still need to pack leggings, pjs, work, camera, pressed powder makeup (goes in a smaller bag that I carry to stop it from breaking or getting crushed in the pan in a big bag)
I'm still waiting for some stuff to get out the wash so it can be ready and I leave tomorrow!

Throughout this week uploading videos won't be possible, but.... I'll have captured lots of fun footage to put up the following week and of course I'll be blogging every day still.

Hope you enjoyed packing with me!

Crazy, beautiful shoesies

Wednesday, 1 February 2012

I'm not a plain pumps kind of person, I like shoes covered in junk, glitter, stuffed animals, whacky prints, things stuck onto the laces etc, that's why when watching the movie The Sitter (which isn't all that great if I'm honest) there's a guy who can roll around on roller skates so wonderfully that I realised that's what I'd love to do! Roll around on roller skates rather than walk anyway, it's so much more fun and you'll get places in double quick time!
The one small problem might be that there's no real flat area where I can practice and not get laughed at for falling over (which I'm sure I will, a lot, at first at least, and maybe several more times after that) also, I couldn't wear them at home because there is so many stairs, though perhaps I could wheel through the corridoors.

I've been looking for some covered in sequins and lights that flash when the wheels roll, but I wonder if I might be being too specific...
So far I've found these cute ones:
SFR Rio Roller White & Pink £39.95

They're so sweet like candy floss! and they look pretty comfy, plus I love that they're called a 'Disco skate' I wonder if there's any roller discos near me...
You can get these bad boys at www.skatehut.co.uk

But you best beleive if I find a sparklier pair, you'll be the first to know!
