Pretty in Pink Makeup Tutorial Urban Decay Naked Palette 3

Sunday, 16 February 2014

It's such a myth that pink eye shadows are tricky to wear, paired with the right colours and the right amount of blending it is such a gem to have in your arsenal!

This is my most recent look using pinks as a base

A little mini breakdown of what happened is as follows:
1.Eyeshadow base
2. Apply a matte white shade all over the lid
3. Apply a bronze pigment around the outer eye and the outer half of the crease
4. Apply a mild baby matte pink on the middle part of the eye
5. Run a white eyeshadow pencil along the inner corner of the eyes and blend with your finger
6. Apply the matte white shadow on the brow bone
7. Run a white eyeliner along the waterline
8. Use a brown gel liner along the upper lash line and the outer third of the lower lash line
9. Apply mascara
10. A slick of cute pink gloss

You are done!

If you are looking for a little more detail, and 3 and a half minutes - or so of fun, watch the tutorial here!

Soft and Romantic Valentines Day Makeup Tutorial Urban Decay Naked Palette 3

Saturday, 18 January 2014

You're thinking that Valentines day is approaching and you want to look cute for the day! Well I have you covered, today I uploaded a super sweet Valentines Day Makeup tutorial that is effortlessly beautiful and chic! Panic over! For this I used my beloved Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, and today it makes its debut to my YouTube, although it's had a special place in my heart for a while now.

The Naked palettes aren't the cheapest palette available, so check to yesterdays post for a super detailed run down on what the palettes are about, what one is best for you and whether they are worth it.

I couldn't resist this tacky photograph effect! Love heart confetti all over my face, what could be better?

New video makeup tutorial Miley Cyris wrecking ball!

Tuesday, 1 October 2013

She may not be everyone's favorite gal, and even less so idol or role model, but I wanted to create her pretty makeup look, don't worry I don't hop into my white y fronts and swing around.
It's very simple, and very classic to wear a bold red lip, a flawless pale face and black liquid eyeliner. It does make her blue eyes pop!

Sweater Weather Makeup Tutorial

Cosy up guys and gals!
It's my first autumnal makeup tutorial...
I called it Sweater Weather, I was wearing a sweater, or a jumper as we call them in England. Plus it also just so happens to be the makeup look that I have been wearing for a little while now.
It's nothing too crazy, just easy, breezy loveliness

And a lil' bit of country music to set the mood!

New Video: How to Frame a Photograph

Thursday, 29 August 2013

Framing a photograph is a little off beat compared to my normal videos, but I figured that you guys would appreciate a little helpful 'how to' from time to time.

The photograph is one from my sisters wedding, and is a little mini one and the first to be framed! I hope you find this handy for all your photos to come!

Back to School Makeup - Discreetly cover spots, blemishes, imperfections and acne!

Thursday, 22 August 2013

There are a lot of beautiful back to school makeup looks floating around the internet (is it weird I hate talking about 'back to school' even though I no longer go to school! It just makes me feel gloomy and like Summer is over!)
Anywho, as I was saying. There are a lot of wonderful makeup looks on Youtube that are titled 'back to school' or 'great teen school makeup' or other variations on those titles. But if your school is anything like mine then makeup was a big fat NO NO. To get caught with makeup on was a complete sin worthy of death as a punishment (or so it felt) So while all these beautiful quick back to school looks might be okay for some school policies, not mine. And maybe not yours too.
I've been plagued with spots and blemishes since what felt like time began, although it was probably when I turned around 13. Eyeliner and mascara can wait, I just want to cover those spots up!
Here's how I did it, I tried and tested it for 3+ years and not once did my school catch me. The tip here is less is more and not to cover the whole face, target the individual spots directly.
Also, this is great for boys who want to wear a little discreet cover up too, my tip would be to apply it in front of a window with a mirror so that you can see exactly how it looks in natural light and to other people.
The key here is subtle, subtle subtle. I feel like this is almost a SECRET makeup tutorial that I'm only sharing with a select few!

Just to reiterate...
I use the following:
Collection 2000 Concealer Lasting Perfection and I am using shade Light! It retails for £3.99 from Superdrug
I'm using loose finishing powder from Bare Minerals, but this is the optional step!

A Level Results day & University Freshers advice video!

Thursday, 15 August 2013

A terrifying day for hundreds of thousands of 18 year olds today, who find out if they have got into the university that they have been pining over for the past 8 months at least.

I was in the same position myself last year and results day for me was an utterly traumatising experience, to think of it now makes me feel a bit nauseous in my stomach. I wish I could go back in time to hug my past self and reassure them that things would turn out okay in the end.

I won't go into the too grim and technical details, as you will probably fall asleep on the keyboard. However, I will say that I was horrifyingly rejected by my first and second choice universities (If you don't know how the system works... there is no third choice, you get a first and second choice and that is your lot!) So I was then thrust into a process in the UK called 'Clearing' which is sort of how it sounds, but if you're still confused then Google can enlighten you on that. It was a huge rush of urgent and frantic telephone calls, waiting on hold, keeling over the toilet bowl with nerves, loss of appetite, begging universities shamelessly, breaking down in tears at any given moment, refreshing my email every 10 seconds and a general feeling of being an absolute failure. However, 36 hours after everyone else, I was accepted by my second choice university who had decided that it wouldn't be so bad to have me on board after all. After initial apprehension at not being at my favorite university like I had expected, I just begun to get very excited. That is where my story ends and this video will be able to fill in all the gaps from that point onwards...

If things haven't gone the way that you expected today, and you're perhaps feeling like your life plans have fallen off the tracks, I plead you not to get disheartened. Life has a wonderful way of springing us away from what we think we want to a place that is even better than we could have ever imagined. I am so unbelievably thankful that I was steered away slightly from what I thought I wanted a year ago, now I have ended up in the place that I am supposed to be.

Get naked Makeup Tutorial

Wednesday, 7 August 2013

Todays Makeup tutorial is entirely from the Urban Decay Naked palette, yes, that old gem!
I use a fair few colours for this one look that I guess in the end turned out to be pretty dark and smokey, but I still wore it in the day time and felt that it was equally appropriate!
I hope you love this one!

New video: Tropical Merrmaid Makeup Tutorial

Monday, 15 July 2013

Fresh from the tropical sea... I present to you my newest makeup tutorial. It's tropical, summery and reminds me of mermaids!
I used the W7 palette for the first time in ages, and to tell you truth I had forgotten why I'd hidden that palette away for quite some time. The colours are very talcy and crumbly, there's a hell of a lot of fall out on the cheeks, not good unless you like blue blusher. But on the other hand the colours do blend very easy as they're not particularly stable even with pigment. Nonetheless the result is still mighty pretty.

Video back up!

Wednesday, 5 June 2013

I go on holiday next week for two weeks and I'm making an active point to not bring the internet with me, that means laptop and ipad stay at home, and internet on phone stays off but I will take my camera to do a bit of filming for my return but it also means no blog posts for the duration but lots of blog posts when I get back to show you what I got up to!

In the mean time, I don't want to deprive my YouTube of content for two weeks so I've been filming back up videos like a crazy mad woman, as well as trying to move out of my flat to move back home for the Summer and organise everything for holiday- whew!

This is all I have so far:

I still have a new video up tomorrow and it is another 'celebrity' makeup look and I'm thinking of squeezing in another celebrity look today, I want to do something with a bold lip!

Little achievements - Big achievements

Sunday, 19 May 2013

Today I reached 223 subscribers and over 50,000 video views
It's not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things but it's wonderful to think that 220 people out there enjoy my hobby enough to want to keep watching my hobby come up with new things!

Yes I have a screen grab of that! Is that sad? Maybe!

I just want to say 50,000 thank you's if you've come from my channel and watched what I get up to.

and another ton of thank you's if you're reading my blog / have read it for months/ read it for the first time today!

Lots of love!

New Video: Adele Classic Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

Saturday, 27 April 2013

Adele's makeup has that wonderfully classic feel to it that everyone can pull off. Sometimes she mixes it up with a red lip or more dramatic winged liner but here I use a nude gloss.
My original picture for inspiration to work from was this:

But I ended up with something a little warmer on the eyes, softer on the eyeliner and sweeter on the lips

I use a lot of shadows from Mac because their nudes are hard to beat, but the essentials on a budget are a medium matte brown, a soft champagne and liquid eyeliner.
I hope you love it!

New Video: Pretty for prom

Saturday, 6 April 2013

I'm going to show you have to look super beautiful for prom!
I don't care what colour your eyes or dress are, this is going to look beautiful on you.
You could go for a dramatic smokey eye and a bright lip, but those kind of looks are high maintenance and need touching up- also in ten years time will it look so hot in photos? I don't know what makeup fashion will be in 2023 but I do know that this look will still be fresh and beautiful even if we are in space suits and flying cars then.

Sit back, relax and enjoy!

New Video: Makeup for a night out!

Sunday, 24 March 2013

Here I'm vamping it up a little with darker eye makeup than usual, so it's not really been created with a daytime event in mind- unless you like darker daytime makeup- which is totally cool!
I was getting ready myself for a night out here and I was wearing all black and wanted makeup a little more smudgy than my normal to wear, I never like how the camera picks up my makeup- I always think it looks better in real - I know they say a bad makeup artist or person in any skill trade blames their tools, but, well I am blaming my tools. I just don't think the colours are done much justice sometimes, and the shimmery shades are made to look like they are full of chunky glitter- not pretty!

Anywho, I hope you enjoy!

Straight after this I filmed an empties video that will be up next week!

New Video: Red lip

Friday, 15 March 2013

It's been a little too long since I uploaded a video but here I have it!
How to do a matte red lip using only a lipliner

Lip liners do not have to just line your lips, they can and should be used for the whole lip! Enjoy!

NEW VIDEO NEW VIDEO

Saturday, 2 February 2013

it's 2am and if that isn't video editing dedication, I don't know what is!
I will be busy travelling home tomorrow (technically today but I haven't slept yet) and I won't be bringing my computer with me!
So I thought I'd get the video uploaded tonight.
It's another empties, those are always fun to do because it's like a haul and a review all in one!
This one used up a lot of products that had drips and drabs in them, that I had left at home but I got to use up when I came home for Christmas

New Video: It's BATHTIME

Friday, 25 January 2013

Yayyy!
Who doesn't love a beautiful bubble bath once in a while?
It's something that I should do more often, but in this video I forgot to mention that you could burn candles, and even have chocolates with you!
If you don't have a bath, don't panic- I've got some fun videos that do not bath discriminate!

New video: A good things jar!

Saturday, 19 January 2013

If you're looking for a positive and newly crafty way to improve your outlook on your life then you could use a 'Good Things' jar
I originally saw this idea on Pinterest, and thought that it was such a great thing to begin in January and all you need is a jar!
Everytime something good happens to you (little or big!) write it on a note, and put it in your jar!

I can't wait to see at the end of the year all the great and wonderful and good things that have happened to me and to reflect on them, let me know if you're trying this too!

New video: Warming up!

Friday, 4 January 2013

I thought of the best trick ever the other night, I decided to heat my bed up with a hairdryer by blasting the sheets for about 45 seconds before hopping in.

It seriously was one of the greatest ideas I have ever had!

I'm thinking about patenting it!

If you have trouble sleeping this might help you out a little as it's sooo lovely to get into a warm bed and much more relaxing...

Here I demonstrate for you!

Enjoy!

Brand New video: Harry Potter Studio Tour

Saturday, 29 December 2012

Well it's your lucky day!

It may have taken a whole 4 attempts  and about 12 hours in total of uploading but it's here in the end!

You don't have to pay to get in, this is the equivalent to your ticket!

Except without any boring queues, aching feet, or travelling.

I'll warn you that if you do have a ticket to go, watching this video would be the equivalent of watching a spoiler to a film that you're about to see...

half of the magic of goin was the surprise of not knowing what magic was going to be int he next room, around the next corner so if you're going to go then come back and watch this video once you've been.

But if you live too far away, or simply can't go then watch, feast your eyes on what felt like genuine magic and enjoy the adventure!
