Simple Subtle Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

Now that it gets darker a little earlier, and it feels acceptable to pull on warm, dark knits - it's also a time that we can get away with wearing darker makeup in the day time!

Here, I present to you the subtle smokey eye, something totally simple and easy, with a wintery bite to it.

I just finished editing and doing my first makeup video and it's my first one with a voice over in a while, but they're not as difficult as I thought to do although I do tend to get side tracked and ramble about things not completely relevant to the content of the video, anyway, let me know your thoughts on that 'creative decision' when it uploads on Saturday.

New video: Kim Kardashian Golden Beauty Makeup Tutorial

Woooo it's new video time! I always feel under pressure when I have to film edit and upload on the same day, which I had to do today. I put new videos around the Thursday-Saturday mark but no later than Saturday, and I just made the cut as this uploaded at approximately 11pm UK time.
I hope you love it!
It's a beautiful golden look using the Urban Decay naked palettes, I even use a shadow wet- hows that for mixing things up a little?

New video! Makeup Tutorial using the Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay

If you're looking for something super easy but very pretty to wear on your eyelids tonight then look no further!

I only use colours from the Naked 2 palette which keeps things pretty simple if you have that already and I think if applied right it gives your eyes a 'glowy haze' to them and it's perfectly pretty for daytime wear too!

New Video: Makeup for a night out!

Here I'm vamping it up a little with darker eye makeup than usual, so it's not really been created with a daytime event in mind- unless you like darker daytime makeup- which is totally cool!
I was getting ready myself for a night out here and I was wearing all black and wanted makeup a little more smudgy than my normal to wear, I never like how the camera picks up my makeup- I always think it looks better in real - I know they say a bad makeup artist or person in any skill trade blames their tools, but, well I am blaming my tools. I just don't think the colours are done much justice sometimes, and the shimmery shades are made to look like they are full of chunky glitter- not pretty!

Video killed the radioooo star!

Yay it's new video time.

It's a very hands-on direct experiment between the Urban Decay primer potion, and MAC paint pot.

I rub and pull at my eyes like there's no tomorrow, to deliver you the most scientific and accurate experiment ever! Sort of...

We've got high tech wind machines, rain, see me shed a tear, persistant blinking, and all the eye traumas that you could ever imagine- all in the name of fabulous looking eyeshadow.

I think MAC has the edge on the before and afters but it's a close one

Night off Night out

Aint no night like a Tuesday night wooo woooo!
And of course the best part was getting ready!
So here's how the look went down...

I went for Bare Escentuals Skin moisturiser, skin primer and a MAC pore refiner as I have a looot of open pores
I used Laura Mercier Moisturising foundation in the palest shade all over my face, then a darker foundation around the edge of my face and blend them together so that it makes a pretty gradient on the skin.
Then using a slim bronzing brush I slim out my face by running MACs Matte Bronzer under the cheekbones, along the nose, on the sides of the forhead and under my chin.
A MAC blusher on my cheekbones in shade Mocha
A highlighting powder (I can't remember which) along the nose bridge, cheekbones, middle of the forhead and on the chin.
To define my brows I used an eyebow pencil from MAC, it's a dark blonde colour and I layer it up to get the right colour!
I used the MAC translucent finishing powder all over my face, and a Bare Escentuals Buxoum lipgloss with super plumping power!
On my eyes I'm wearing my 'Espresso Eyes' which is a brown smokey eye, but a little mor evening as it has a lot of shimmer so here's the instructions that are from that...

"1.Primed my eyes using Bare Escentuals eye primer
2.Coated the whole eyelid in a creamy white shadow 'Shroom' by MAC
3.From the outer corner I dolloped my versatile dark brown 'Folie' by MAC and swished it back and fourth in the crease
4.I used a taupey-grey colour, I can't remember what one! and blended that back and fourth over Folie, only use a little amount, we want to look to be mostly that lovely warm brown rather than a cool grey
5. Using the Folie eyeshadow and taking a thin eyeliner brush i run that along the upper lash line and half way along the lower- this way it's not as harsh as liquid liner and fits in with a 'smokey' look.
6. On the browbone to make a crisp contrast I uses Loreal Color Infaillable in shade 001 Time Resist White
7. Using a brow brush and and an eyeshadow in shade 'Folie' from Mac I run the colour through my brows lightly, and slowly builing up the shape and thickness I'd like
8. I used a white eyeliner pencil on my waterline to my my eyes look bigger, I used 'Fascinating' from MAC
9. I finished off with a few layers of Bare Escentuals black mascara "

Keira Knightley 'A Dangerous Method' Makeup Tutorial

I was inspired by the beautiful Keira Knightley to re create the makeup that she wore for the premiere of her new film 'A Dangerous Method' at the Venice film festival 2011. She wore a wonderfully regal, gold vintage looking dress with her hair clipped back neatly in a center parting.
For Makeup she has a wonderfulyl flawless but fresh face, with minimal blush and bronzer. But if you haven't got her fab cheekbones like me then we have to do a lot of chiselling with our bronzer to get the same effect.
For eyes she's wearing a bluey grey on the top lash and a gold mixed with brown along the bottom which looks beautiful with her rich brown eyes.

Woo! I may be no Keira Knightley, but I gave it my best shot, and perhaps the thick eyebrow is a look that I should be sporting? What do you guys think?
