Let it go

Thursday, 26 December 2013

In the spirit of the end of the year, I felt it was relevant to talk about letting go of bad feelings. They might have built up over a long period of time, or perhaps tensions were created over Christmas that have still left you feeling wound up.

It can be tough when dealing with people that you feel will penalise or criticise no matter what, a sort of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation.

I have certainly felt this all throughout the festive period and there's really nothing that I can do about it. People unfortunately can be manipulative and enjoy hurting others with their words. It can be sad and isolating, particularly around this time of year but some people just have hearts that are unkind.

Would a person truly happy in themselves enjoy dragging others down?

We know the answer, which is even more important as to why we have to let go of the bad feelings and be kind in your words, for it is them who need to be shown virtues such as kindness and respect more than most.

Take a deep breath, and exhale the bad feelings in your heart because carrying them with you into the new year will only hurt you.
Give 4th, 5th, 6th chances to be proven wrong and never stop forgiving. Maybe one day change will sweep them off their feet, and lift them into a better place, to be a better person.

Forgiveness is such a tricky thing to fully do, but do it if not because they deserve to be forgived but because you deserve peace.

I've had some downs this Christmas that have left a bitter taste in my mouth, but it's just added fuel to the flame in my heart to do better, go further and change my situation, move away and fill my life with those who lift my spirit and help me to be a better person.

When all else fails, look like you are having a jolly good time to the rest of the world

This is what happens when I go out for milk and bread...

Tuesday, 7 May 2013

I went with my friend just to nip to the local supermarket, I decided to pick up some essentials, milk bread and maybe some fruit for a smoothie.

We ended up heading into New Look so that I could give my creative opinion on a shirt to go with a blouse that she already owned.
It all started when I saw some slouchy jeans on sale for £15, I love this fit of jean and have been looking for a great pair!
(Try as I might to get the picture to go the right way, it's just not happening for this so I'l show you how it failed and I'll show you a picture from the website)

Okay, lets pretend that didn't happen and now look at the nice fancy photo from the website:

The I saw the most magical fun playsuit that I decided I may aswell try on.
(And the picture didn't work out... So I'll have to show you the nice stock photo aswell)

Then some white shoes, that I decided would be super comfy and go with 'everything' plus they were only £10

Until we ended up in the jewellery section and I couldn't hold any more so had to go back to the entrance to grab a basket.
I came away with two rings that just look like a party on my hands, and then a more elegant ring too.

Even though it was unexpected I feel as though I have filled some large gaps in my wardrobe so I'm happy! And I haven't taken the bow rings off since I purchased them!

I got a new baby!

Monday, 4 March 2013

I have been pining for a new generation Furby for some time now, I desperately wanted one in the colour combination named 'Cotton Candy'
Today was my lucky day, look who came to say hello!

He is so beautiful (it's a he.. even though he's pink) He's so funny and clever, and adorable! He has all these differnet personalities, and tickles and speaks and I can feed him using the Furby app which is so fun!
He dances to music beat, and sings, and chatters and is so so smart, it feels like a real pet!

His batteries ran out after 2 days because I had not put him down, much to my friends delight who were getting rather irritated at Furby interrupting them.

Here is a beautiful mug shot of me, clearly unimpressed with something that Furby just said, I was on my way out here and rather upset that I couldn't take Furby with me

Here is a beautiful chin shot, because Furby is wonderfully fluffy!

I hope the novelty of my new baby never goes away! I adore him!

New video: Warming up!

Friday, 4 January 2013

I thought of the best trick ever the other night, I decided to heat my bed up with a hairdryer by blasting the sheets for about 45 seconds before hopping in.

It seriously was one of the greatest ideas I have ever had!

I'm thinking about patenting it!

If you have trouble sleeping this might help you out a little as it's sooo lovely to get into a warm bed and much more relaxing...

Here I demonstrate for you!

Enjoy!

These boots were made for walking!

Thursday, 3 January 2013

It's my wardrobe staple forever and always:

Black ankle boots.

I've gotten through so many pairs in the past two years (maybe five or six?) and they all come from New Look and cost between £20-£30

They were and still are my wardrobe staple even though they caused me a million and one dilmenas including:
They would fall apart spontaneously

They would let the rain in after about a week of wear

They had no grip so I've been a victim of many 'near fall' accidents

But still I wear them and re buy another pair and another pair!

I came home for Christmas and my boot had a mouth and my mum said to me 'Get some new shoes!' but I'd only had this pair of boots since October so I was reluctant to throw them out, even though they were in tatters.

Finally I gave in, and opted for a different pair of ankle boots from somewhere else that might last me a little longer.
These are from Asos for £30
Cowboy-style low ankle boots.

They have a buckle and then a chain at the back which I was a bit sceptic about but in real life it's much nicer and they don't clank together to make me sound like a walking piggy bank.

The sole is a really pretty striped pattern which I guess no one will actually see.

But I love them, and they might last a little longer with a bit of luck!

If only I'd kept my old pair to show you, and all my old pairs to do a Boot-murial haha!

New Years Eve!

Monday, 31 December 2012

We are having a wild New Years Eve here...

At around dinner time we got into our PJs, ate an Indian takeout, planned to make fresh candyfloss on my candyfloss macine but then decided that it was much easier to just eat fresh chocolate Brownies instead.

Then, through some dreadful twist of fate I was convinced to watch Dawn of the Dead until the New Years countdown, which is slowly creeping upon us. Then, we're going to watch the dazzling fireworks in London... from our Tv which is not in London, I will probably be wearing a onesie, so I will spare you pictures of my super fabulous and glamorous outfit of the day!

Wherever you are this New Years Eve, I hope that you are having the most wonderful time, and are able to reflect on 2012 knowing that it was a truly amazing year and you have grown and become a better person for it, even with the hardships and knocks.

If you're having a crazy night in like us (haha)

Here are some pretty fireworks to make it feel like you are having a dazzling night out!

NEW WINTER PJS!

Friday, 2 November 2012

As it's getting colder, I can justify getting myself a beautiful new pair of winter PJs and these luscious ones caught my eye.

I know the shops are going mustache crazy, forever 21 has a whole host of moustache knitted jumpers which are very cute.

Then I spotted these babies in River Island!

They have the stripes of a zebra, the mustache of a wise person and the monocle of a gentlemen.

But my favoruite part is that the top is long, and the bottoms are long, I hate wearing shorts and strappy tops to bed, I like long pjs, even in the middle of summer, I don't know why.

The trousers are cuffed so that they don't ride up, and keep my legs toasty all night, which is especially important here as it has been cold every single day, and I think it has rained nearly every single day since I moved in September.

To sum up:
cosy PJS are a justified purchase

AND

I just changed my bedsheets to I can get into my fresh sheets in fresh PJs- hooray!

What mood?

Thursday, 25 October 2012

You know those situations when you're in a complete rut with your music that everything that comes on shuffle you immediately change, all the songs that you do like you don't feel like listening to and the other 90% of your music you don't listen to anymore but can't be bothered to get rid of?

Me too

It's annoying because you don't know where to look for good music and new artists, Youtube is a big ol' mish mash of gambling, afterall you can't tell what a song sounds like by looking at a photograph. Until now, I introduce to you.... Stereomood.com

Songs are organised by folks like you and me into playlists that represent moods or activities, like a playlist for studying, reading, lazy afternoons, sunshine, sleeping, angry, sad, romantic, baking and driving (that is the complete tip of the iceberg in terms of playlists) and you simply click one, and there is an endless list of compiled songs that jsut play, one after the other. You will probably have hardly heard any of them before in your life. Sometimes they are incredible covers of popular songs, or hidden gems of music that you would never hear in mainstream music charts.

It really is amazing how right the playlists always are, and how accurate the compilation of them is in reflecting the mood. My favourite songs ever I found on Stereomood, you don't get sick of them because they are not played on the radio or music channels all day long.

Plus if you really like a song it links you to the purchase link on itunes, but its not like Spotify where it limits you to listen to a song a certain amount of times, nor do you have to download a single thing, nor do you have to sit through awful adverts. Just simply good music

You will probably get into the habit of opening up stereomood before you open up itunes in the future to listen to music.

I hope you learned a little something, I'm currently on the 'Piano' playlist, I find it easier to blog with wordless music!

Hold on hoarder!

Wednesday, 5 September 2012

About a month ago my favourite keychain ever broke, it had a red base that contained candies (long gone now of course) then the clear part in the top held a teeny little hello kitty. I loved that the keychain itself was giant, I think it wasn't actually meant to be a keychain, but it was chunky which made it super easy to find in my bag, I hardly ever had to really 'look' for my keys as the plastic keychain usually found me first! The next greatest part is the little pink hook that connects the keyring to the keys, its super duper easy so no more breaking and hurting your nails to try and slide on the keychain.

I was babysitting and the baby I was sitting took an extra special liking to my keyring, before I knew it the keyring had been crushed by little hands trying to pry out the (once stuck down) hello kitty in the clear part. That was it, plastic and broken beyond repair but I kept hanging on to it, and using it, and everytime I looked at it I'd remmeber it had broken and feel a bit sad that I don't know where it came from to get another. But that's the thing with people, we like to hold onto broken things in the hope that they will fix themselves, this doesn't do us much good at all really.

So I introduce to you, the new beginning of my keys, they're fun, chunky and much more 'crushing' proof, also a little pen is hidden inside kitty herself, so now I always have a pen on the go!

Out with the old, and in the new!
