Insta-late

Tuesday, 29 October 2013

I am suuuper late on the Instagram bandwagon, so late that I didn't actually start posting until today.
However,
I am really rather enjoying it!
So far I've posted a picture of Lana Del Rey (mandatory)
A cute animal (also mandatory)
and some Hello Kitty bits and pieces

I do need to get the hang of this whole 'tagging' malarky, or hash tagging, it throws me off a little as basically anything can be hashtagged.
Instagram kind of reminds me of Pinterest, but a little more refined and less ambitious... if that makes sense?

I'll share with you a few little magical treats from my Insta-stream
before I tumble into a long deep sleep, I still have my next installment in my Halloween costume tutorial videos to upload! I'm getting there, give me a chance...

I really think that this place could rival Disneyland (From what I've seen which extends no further than a Google image search)

Now you never have to look at anything cute ever again for the rest of your life and you'd still have cuteness left over

She was the soundtrack to my Summer, and now, accidentally, my life too.

Isn't it funny how filters make everything look better?

Furby is mobile!

Wednesday, 22 May 2013

I saw such a beautiful Furby backpack on eBay, I much prefer it to the new modern designs for the new Furbies, which are a bit more clunks and chunky looking, not to mention four or five times the price as they are not yet available widespread in the UK.

But I knew this little thing had to belong to me so that I could carry Furby around!

Also the shoulder straps are able to extend so they fit little kiddies and me!

I love how it even has a little seatbelt in the backpack to hold him in, and a kind of mesh side panel so that he can breathe!

I have no doubt that similar designs will be on the catwalk this Summer...haha...

Cute Kitten Fairy Tshirt!

Wednesday, 15 May 2013

I saw a very adorable tee about two weeks ago on firebox.com which is a website with a whole accumulation of great and magical and often over priced things.
I really wanted the fairy cat t shirt but it was over £20 and I didn't know how good Firebox's returns policy was.
Lo-and behold ebay held the answer, it had the very same t shirt for £12.99 although it was in kids sizes. I bought the XL kids size to be on the safe side and it's even a little large but I love it nonetheless.
I was super delighted when it came, who can resist kittens with wings???

It's their beautiful glassy eyes that get me the most!!!
I wish this breed of animal was real, I love they way the white and pink one is holding a flower too!

If you've fallen in love with the kittens on my tee too you can get your own kitten tshirt here

Knitted outfit of the day

Friday, 19 October 2012

This is my outfit today! My first real 'wintery' outfit even though everything here is old, except the jacket- but I thought i'd share it with you anyway.
On my top I'm wearing a Black vest top from Primark and over the top a navy blue bell-sleeved jumper that's about a year old from Joe Browns, I like it because of the white detailing on the bottom of it.
Around my neck is a scarf from Topman that is super old, but the print on it kind of matches the print on the bottom of the jumper
My jacket was in the sale at Internacionale for £34, I like it because it has studs on the collar, it's kind of edgy and cute
On my bottom half I'm wearing some grey striped shorts that were originally from Topshop but I got them from Ebay, then some thick grey knitted leggings underneth from TK Maxx, you can't see below the knee but I added my charcoal legwarmers and had them poking out from some plain black, low heeled ankle boots from New look

Wintery knits woo-hoo!

It's my birthdaaaaaay!

Wednesday, 3 October 2012

Another sweet birthday has passed on by and now I can't believe it's all over

It's been filled with delightfully pink candyfloss clouds of love and happiness so I simply cannot complain.

I love birthday gestures that indicate that people just 'know' you, like how my friends made me Barbie cupcakes using one of those kiddy mixes, because they know I think Barbie is the queen of sass and style!

And how my roomate knows that I get excited over recieving mail, so she put my birthday card in the post box rather than just handing it to me over breakfast!

And how my mum travelled hours just to see me on my birthday and shower me in lots of love! And lots of brithday cake... this was my cake, a hot pink pig!

It tasted so amazing, after those Percy Pig sweets they sell in Marks and Spencers, so the icing was a delicious strawberry scented goodness, I love birthday cake so much that I think all birthday cakes should be sponge cakes, chocolate to me seems more like an 'all year round' cake

To top it all off, we ate in Wagamama's and I had the Cha han of course (no prawns, extra chicken) and it was yum-a-dee-doo

P.S If you were wondering about presents, I'm kind of weird with them, I like to keep them all together in a pile in the corner of my room and not put them away for about a week so that I can just absorb them in and look at them all together in one go, even if I use something that I got for my birthday I will put it back in the 'birthday pile' for example, a bottle of perfume- I would use some of it then place it in its original packaging back in the pile- I don't know why I do this, I have done it since I can remember! I do it at Christmas too- I just have a hard time putting presents away!

Bow-Tiful!

Saturday, 15 September 2012

Making a bow dress is the easiest craft project imaginable!

This is how it goes down:
Take a plain dress (this works with vest tops, jumpers and tshirts too) in a pretty colour

And an assortment of bows, I have seven in lots of nice colours- I love pastel colours, you can make them yourself with leftover ribbon or buy them from ebay or craft shops
Lay the bows out on the dress and put them where you think works, make sure you don’t have two colours together that are too ‘samey’

You can pin the bows down where you like them, or just go straight into sewing them on

Take a length of white thread about 15-20cm and knot one end, then thread the other end through the eye of a sewing needle

Each bow takes out 4 simple hand stitches to secure them, then knot them at the back, and go onto the next bow
Then there you have it, a simple bow dress that takes all of twenty minutes but makes you look as pretty as a wrapped birthday present!

Bathing in GOO

Friday, 13 July 2012

I was drawing myself a bath when I stumbled upon a container filled with bath tablets that turn your bath water a fun, bright colour! I had forgotten that I even had them, as I think they were from the kids section in Boots bath gimmicks.

So I just threw the last two in the water and waited to see what happened!

This is what happened!
It looked like I had a bath of goo, it didn't stain anything even though it was so super-vibrant and it made my bath a little more fun! Though I've no idea what drew me to buying someting so useless...

Ducks on your duvet?

Tuesday, 10 July 2012

So maybe it is summer and maybe making your feet warmer is the absolute last thing on your mind, but in rainy ol' England it's on my mind quite often, especially as there's a lot of wooden floorbaords rather than cosy carpet in my house. So- I give you... The Duvet Ducks!

I tried to take a picture to show off their true cosiness but no camera will do these justice!
Even the fanciest slipper in the world will not make you think that you're still in bed, but these babies will do just that, they're made from the same stuff as duvets and cradle your foot like a fluffy cloud!

So far I've only been able to find them on Amazon- but they really are amazing as they sound and as a regular slipper wearer I give these guys 5 toes up! (like thumbs or star ratings- but with toes!)

How to make life a little sweeter

Tuesday, 8 May 2012

Regular decor can be so dull, how do you jazz up a room?

Maybe a new throw cushion

Maybe a new rug

Maybe a new lamp

But the 'feel' of the room hasn't raelly changed

Here, I gaurantee you genuine smiles and happiness all around by decorating your:

Dressing tables

Counters

Window ledges

Bed side tables

...with these cutie beauties!

They're pretend! Crafted with love by these guys at esty, shop here

All the sweetness, none of the calories and they last forever!

Mwah! Yum-a-dee-doo!

Bow-tiful! Outfit of the day!

Tuesday, 13 March 2012

Here's a little look at what I wore today!

For Makeup:
Moisturiser on the cheeks
Primer on the T zone (it gets the most oily!)
Concealer under my eyes and under my nose
Quick dusting of all over face powder
Pastel pink blusher on the cheeks
Black eyeliner on the water line
Swipe of black mascara
Vaseline on the lips

For hair:
5 minute straightening on the ends

For clothing:
White vest top with black lace bow and a giant gem in the middle! (I love this) It's from a stall at Portobello market in London.
Black knitted cardigan from Next
Slim fit smart black trousers (which I know you can't see- but just so you get a feel of the look as a whole!)

Don't throw away your sweet wrappers!...

Monday, 27 February 2012

Wear them instead!!!

That's right, there are people that take recycling to a whooooole new level!
I give you...
The candy wrapper corset!

I'm not much of a corset wearer myself, but I might just make an exception for this one.
I can't quite decide if it's hobo-chic or sugary sweet though.
What do you think?

This one will set you back a pretty penny at £193.53 or $299 from here
But I'm pretty sure you could make one yourself providing you're willing to eat a few bags of sweets! I'm sure freinds will be willing to help with that.
Then preserve the wrappers and with a cheap corset (ebay) and a hot glue gun (craft store) you could put it together yourself for £10 or less!

You could go to a fancy dress party as a bag of sweets! With a little of everything you're sure to be everyones favourite!
