Face food - Delicious Face Mask

Wednesday, 8 May 2013

I've used a lot of face masks in the past, some from individual sachets, tubs, tubes in every type. Some are creamy while others are the type that dry into a film and you peel from your face. I prefer the creamy ones that dry solid though, the ones where you can't speak, and when you crack a smile you look like a little old lady!

The last face mask that I have ever used religiously was Cupcake by Lush, it even made an appearance in my empties video but by that point I'd got annoyed with the product as it's pretty expensive and didn't really help my skin but it did feel good and smell good although it's brown colour meant that it was super messy...

I unexpectedly found the replacement for my life which is just amazing as far as face masks go. It's the Good Things 5 minute facial mask from Boots and cost the humble price of £5.99 for a 100ml container. The packaging isn't super exciting but the thing that really got me falling in love was the scent. It says it has Avocado and Goji Berry extracts, but for me it smells like raspberry yoghurt and I just want to eat it!

Scent aside, the product alone is really good, it's a great creamy consistency that does dry to a solid mask, when you smile the mask cracks of course but it doesn't flake like other masks do, so you don't have a ton of face mask extract all over the floor. Also, it is free from any animal based ingredients, parabens and sulphate
I like good things!

New video: A good things jar!

Saturday, 19 January 2013

If you're looking for a positive and newly crafty way to improve your outlook on your life then you could use a 'Good Things' jar
I originally saw this idea on Pinterest, and thought that it was such a great thing to begin in January and all you need is a jar!
Everytime something good happens to you (little or big!) write it on a note, and put it in your jar!

I can't wait to see at the end of the year all the great and wonderful and good things that have happened to me and to reflect on them, let me know if you're trying this too!

End of the week clippings

Saturday, 8 September 2012

So it's the end of the week, and I feel a little under the weather (boo, boo what else is new?)
As much as I want to curse the meanie that has passed on some nastie to me, I could have got it from anywhere because I've been here there and everywhere this week, and here's what I have to show for it:

A whole mound of tickets and brochures- so I can't complain because you have to take the good with the bad!
Each ticket and snippet holds great memories and is of course worthy of a place in the scrapbook.

I wouldn't know fun times if I didn't know un-fun times (like being in bed feeling ill)
and... it's the weekend, and weekends were made for lazy recoveries, right?
So here is to taking the good with the bad, because if we didn't have bad then we wouldn't have good!

Wake me up- before you go go!

Wednesday, 15 August 2012

Getting up is the first challenge of my day, every single day.
I am a bad getter-upper even when I've had a full night sleep!
I've tried them 'sunrise' alarm clocks before to try and ease me into waking up but I would always sleep straight through the light getting brighter and just end up late.
When I got to grips with the fact that I can't avoid that 'ughraghshh' wake up feeling I can join it- and make it better, happier!
Starting with....
My wake up song, or alarm clock song that is set on my phone is now super important as it can set up my mood for a whole day, but remember to change it often (every fortnight or so) otherwise you will get sick of it and come to hate the song because you will associate it with waking you up in the morning...

So without further ado here is my morning-happy-alarm songs to keep you going for a while!

Something to get your heart pumping and feeling like you can take the day on:

One of my favourites and it's slow and breezy at first:

Something to get you feeling good- haha:

One of my favourite alarm songs but was so afraid of ruinging a song that I love, that I changed it quickly to my current alarm clock song!:

My current alarm song!:

If none of them are working for you, just opt for a song that slowly builds up rather than something that begins with a 'BANG' otherwise it will just aggrivate you in the morning, and won't have you jumping out of bed with a smile on your face.

Every day may not be good...

Monday, 6 February 2012

...But there is something good in every day

Sometimes the day has been truly against us and we tie ourselves up in knots thinking about how it all seemed to go so wrong.

Sometimes we think about it so hard, that we can't even sleep and let a new day begin because we're wearing ourselves out thinking about yesterday.

Always look for the little things, even teeny tiny things that were good in your day, the little things that bring me joy on a bad day can be as simple as listening to something calm and beautiful like this:

While reflecting on all that has given me joy today, my list goes a little something like this:

The sight of my fairy lights glowing over my fireplace

A bath with so many bubbles

Being able to listen to the same song on repeat

Starting a new book

A mug of peppermint tea

My phone not running out of battery

The wonderfully inky night sky

Share with me something that has brought you joy today!

Sweet dreams (day or night) that allow us to escape to anywhere, if only for a moment!
