Tangerine Dream - Mini MAC Haul!

Sunday, 30 June 2013

I picked up some fabulous new treats for the 'hopefully' warmer months to come.
I can't get enough of nudes at the moment, so everyhting is heavily 'nude' based.

What do we have here?
Lipstick in shade Pretty Please
Lipglass in shade Myth ( I love the lipstick so now I have the Myth gloss to match
Mineralize skin finish powder in shade Soft and Gentle
Powder Blush in shade Style

The swatches are as follows:
Far left is Myth Gloss which is a warm, nude based colour. The colour is thick and payoff is great on the lips too
Next along going left is Pretty Please lipstick which is a nude sheer lipstick with a frosty look, it's in the lustre category
Then the golden swatch is the Mineralized skinfinish, it's great for adding an all over glow to the face or just to highlight the high points on the face.
Finally, on the far right is the bright coral blush Style with a frost finish

Summer makeup essentials:
Sorted!

This is what happens when I go out for milk and bread...

Tuesday, 7 May 2013

I went with my friend just to nip to the local supermarket, I decided to pick up some essentials, milk bread and maybe some fruit for a smoothie.

We ended up heading into New Look so that I could give my creative opinion on a shirt to go with a blouse that she already owned.
It all started when I saw some slouchy jeans on sale for £15, I love this fit of jean and have been looking for a great pair!
(Try as I might to get the picture to go the right way, it's just not happening for this so I'l show you how it failed and I'll show you a picture from the website)

Okay, lets pretend that didn't happen and now look at the nice fancy photo from the website:

The I saw the most magical fun playsuit that I decided I may aswell try on.
(And the picture didn't work out... So I'll have to show you the nice stock photo aswell)

Then some white shoes, that I decided would be super comfy and go with 'everything' plus they were only £10

Until we ended up in the jewellery section and I couldn't hold any more so had to go back to the entrance to grab a basket.
I came away with two rings that just look like a party on my hands, and then a more elegant ring too.

Even though it was unexpected I feel as though I have filled some large gaps in my wardrobe so I'm happy! And I haven't taken the bow rings off since I purchased them!

YAYYY

I know I am slightly crazy for going shopping at this time of year, but I couldn't resist these adorable treats!

First on the list are these two cute pairs of knick-knocks

I love the little cute ducks! And the little neon hearts! They were in the sale too...

Then for the top half, I saw this beautiful Aladdin jumper, although Aladdin isn't my favourite of the Disney selction they had, it had the nicest colours so I got it!

Then just when I was certain that I was finished, I found this beautiful top with fancy gold writing saying 'Be Kind to one another'

I just couldn't resist it's loveliness!

Did you brave the shops post-C hristmas this year?

How to do makeup VEGAN STYLE

Wednesday, 18 April 2012

So I had a little trawl through my eyeshadows and realised that I was lacking fresh spring time colours, mostly I have a lot of pressed colours that have dark undertones or perfect for a smokey eye, but nothing that was really zingy and fresh. So my port of call for inspiration was Etsy, which is a frequent port of call of mine for the last year or so. I was amazed to come across a huge range of vegan makeup, made in a little studio, one at a time.

I never really thought about small, independant makeup companies before but it's so super important to support people trying to make it, especially if there products are great!

So I came across Madison Street Beauty's Etsy store:

I was enchanted mostly by the beautiful blue hazes (and some delicious names) and got a little carried away in my buying, but I could justify it for three reasons.
1. They were having a 60% off sale
2. They had incredible reviews
3. Makeup that is cruelty free and naturally coloured with NO chemicals is a beautiful break for the skin, especially delicate eye are

So here's what I got:

The quality of them is lovely, they're just messy (as are all loose powders) I love Sea Foam and Mermaid the most, I want to do a gorgeous blue look with these and a soft brown in the crease, I think that would look so spring time and dreamy!

The great thing is that because you don't get to see and test the product they include swatches in the pictures, so here's the swatches of the ones that I got!

Electric Periwinkle

Enchanted Forest

Mermaid

Opal

Seafoam

Shamrock

Stardust

Tiffany Blue
Important details:
-They sell blushers and highlighters and chap sticks too
-An eyeshdow is normally £3.35 but in the 60% off sale I paid £1.30 eeek!
-The 60% off sale finishes today!!!
-If you miss it, here is a coupon code to get 20% off all year round, from my heart to yours! (Well, more like Madison Street Beauty's heart to yours)
TY2BAR (you can't combine it with the 60% off sale for 80% off unfortunately

Bits & Bobs for Mothers Day and Easter!

Saturday, 17 March 2012

Here's a lil' (albeit very pixelated) peek at what I picked up today for Easter, Mothers Day and a few practical pieces for me.
Along the top, you can see 3 little easter eggs- they are so fun! I love the Mr potato head one because it has all the chocolate facial features.
I love the pink chocolate on the Percy Pig egg and the millions of sprinkles that make up Hello Kitty's dress! They came from Marks and Spencers and were £6 each or 3 for the price of 2!

Other little easter treats include:
2 bags of mini kinder eggs
2 packets of Malteaser rabbits
3 Lindt gold bunny rabbits
and something so yummy it deserves it's own picture:

A bath bomb from Lush in the shape of an egg! It's scented the same as Snow Fairy, which is my sisters favourite fragrance so I'm excited to give this to her!
and I got a dragon soap to celebrate Chinese New Year- it's fragrance is Karma and it's coated in gold dust, but it's a present so I don't want to unpackage it!

Other practical things I got:
Batisee dry shampoo in fragrance Original
Another bottle of Simple light facial moisturiser
Cupcake and Polka dot folders!

And finally...

The packet under the aerosal is kind of a 'jokey' Mothers day present to go alongside her actual one. It's a kit  to make a vase of roses out of foam!
It's meant for little chidren to give their mums I think- but it will be cute because they'll never die like real flowers!
The best part? It cost £2 from Morrisons!!!

Here's how I make them:

California Gurl...

Wednesday, 14 March 2012

I wasn't lucky enough to visit California myself
but... I'm not complaining because I knew people who were lucky enough to go!
and I got some super duper souvenirs from the U.S OF A!

Woo! Hooray for Macy sales! And Victoria secret, and Bath and Body works- none of which are here in the UK!

First things first, I got a Victoria Secret Red Plum and Freesia body mist, wash and scrub- it smells so sweet, I love it!
A new Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick- I love these so much, and they last a long time. It's one of my favourtie Bronzers and highlights!

A cute striped top from Guess at Macy's - I love me some nautical stripes!

This top might just be the most Barbie-ish shirt I own! Isn't it pretty!?

I got some fun pants from Victoria Secret too- but nobody likes a panty flasher so I'll just give you a close up of the fun fabrics!

I got some pom pom hair bobbles, Milka chocolate and Spearmint de-stress spray (Bath & Body works) too! I didn't do a special close up of the stripy jumper because it wasn't photographing so well- but it was a cute cropped knit nautical jumper from Macy's! (you see a swatch of it in the first picture!)

Maybe my final and most cutest product of the whole stash....

A easter chick hand soap wash!
Isn't she so fancy with her bow?
I want to name her!

Feeling like a very lucky lady indeed! I sure wish I had these shops near me all the time!

Mid week pick-me-up

Wednesday, 29 February 2012

Sometimes the middle of the working week is a time for celebration (half way to the weekend!)
or a time for grumpyness (still got the other half of the week before the weekend...)

But never fear- a new video is here, and in this video the day looks much brighter and happier than my day today was!

For some reason I feel as though I look deathly pale in this video! I was using my Laura Mercier moisturising foundation that day, and perhaps it doesn't work so well on camera- at least I hope that's the case, wouldn't be great if I was walking around looking as though I have the flu that day!

Hope you have a great rest of the week- and if the thought of two more days in the working week is getting you down, just imagine that this weekend we're going shopping in the fanciest places in town- and we can all swan about the street with oodles of shopping bags on our arms (the posh ones made from card with cord handles) and then afterwards sip an over priced latte in a cafe as we rest our shopped out feet! Wouldn't it be nice!?

Sunny Shopping for Charity!

Saturday, 25 February 2012

Here's what I looked like a little earlier today:

Sunglasses on my head, you best believe it's going to be a good day! Who doesn't love sunshine to put a little extra spring in your step!
Here's a closer look at my 'Queen of Aces' fancy shirt!

This is a little look at the treasures I picked up!
A black evening top from Warehouse (but actually from Demelza House)
A floral shirt from New look ( but actually from the red cross)
A black shoulder pad cropped jacked from H&M (but actually from Demelza House)
A fun print tassle scarf with no brand on it but came from good ol' Demelza house too!

Finally, I treated myself to a chocolate orange candle because it smelt exactly like chocolate! And usually i hate the scent of aritificial chocolate because it smells like sugary plastic. But this smelt like the REAL DEAL! And I sure love them chocolate oranges, so I'm not sure if this candle will do more harm than good and make me crave chocolate oranges!

That's a little bit of the fun we had today, Saturday shopping is great! especially when it does good things for charities and costs a fraction of what it does when you shop in the high street stores!

I'll upload a video soon that goes into a little more depth about our day!

Highstreet store haul- Valentines goodies & makeup!

Thursday, 2 February 2012

I love the makeup counters, they're the like the candy stores of my teen years just rows and rows of little clear pots and art supplies to dust and blend all over our face to transform us into anything we desire.

These are the fun things that I got today, the 4 empty containers were pans that I slotted into the pallette already, the brand is 'Fashionista' (I think the name is awful too) but the shadows are fantastic and only £4 each
The light mint colour is Green guild
The dark glittery green is Envy
The light pink is Glamour girl
The hot pink (my favourite) is Brave

I love them, I used them in my Valentines day makeup tutorial which I'll post here too once it's edited and up.
The pallette came free when you buy four eyeshadows in one go, and they sell them in black or cherry red, I preferrred the black because it matched the other colours of my makeup packaging

I then got Barry M black crackle nail polish, I've never tried it and if i like the quality I might get a candy pink and white one too, I got it kinda as a test run because I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it was around £3 or £4

The little pot below the nail polish is a Maybelline eyeshadow duo in shade Shiny Nude, they had a lot of colours, and this is the first marble eyeshadow I bought, this colour stuck out to me because the marble side comes out as a really pretty coral colour, it's really fun.

The pot of foundation from Boots is from Natural Collection which is the cheapest makeup brand that I have ever known! All of this foundation was £1.99! You best bet my eyes bulged out of my head when I saw that, I thought it might be good to use in videos if it's of a good quality since pretty much everyone can afford that.

Below that is Loreal Color Infaillable in shade 001 Time Resist White
I thought it might make an awesome highlight colour because it's so shimmery

BONUS GOODIES:
I saw some super stinkin' sweet valentines goodies for-me! We've got to show ourselves some love right?!
I got this two peas in a pod super duper cute fabric keyring, it's so soft though I can see it getting grubby pretty fast attached to my keys, the best part is it was £1.50 from Sainsbury's!
Then I got this beautiful polka dot fabric bunting, it's 1.5m of heart shaped adorability. My walls are white so I'm decided between putting it there or wrapping it around my bed, it was £3 or £3.50 I can't remember, also from Saisbury's

We all need to give our rooms a lil' love!

Here's the accompnaying video to my haul!:

Happy almost Valentines day!!!
