Sundays are for lounging, and I stumblest across the cutest thing to do while lounging...
Gum Girl!!! - The picture book (chic-er way of saying comic)
I saw this on a shelf in a store and thought it looked sooooo cute! I didn't buy it there and then but when I got home saw if I could get it from Amazon, until I realised.... that the Gum Girl website are offering this issue to read for free online, you can read it straight from the website, no downloading needed or anything! How often is it that you get stuff legally for free that you can also buy- almost never- so I was very excited and had to share this.
I read this issue online, it was so so so cute. If Gum Girl becomes popular, I want to dress like her on special occasions, just kidding, on a day-to-day basis.
Here's a link directly to the picture book if it takes your fancy:

Blue Wedding!
Saturday, 9 March 2013
Today was a frantic rush of getting ready, I was so excited for this wedding that I hadn't slept very well for a few nights running up to it.
I got my hair done in the morning which took some of the pressure off, my hair-spiration came from Pinterest:
but I did my own makeup which was a neutral eye using the Urban Decay Vice palette - I forgot my Naked Palette and only had my Vice at home but luckily there were a few neutral gems in there which made it work out okay!
I did a bright bold red lip too video to follow, and then I had to do my sisters makeup too!
My sister is wearing a purple dress so wanted makeup to match, I found this:
From Pinterest of course...
and delved into the Urban Decay Vice palette and it had the perfect colours to recreate this
Here's how we turned out and then I will give an outfit break down!
My sister breakdown:
Purple dress from Karen Millen
Nude shoes from.. New Look or Next Probably
Makeup- me!

My breakdown:
Nautical dress from a boutique but I think I saw the same design at Blue Banana
Red Heels eBay - £10! (new, from an eBay shop)
Beaded clutch- Present from my sister from Debenhams about 5 years ago!
I did get some comments that it looked like I was wearing fancy dress- but I didn't care I love nautical-ness!
Us with the bride!
I wasn't sure if she'd appreciate her picture being put anywhere other than her Facebook, so I covered her face in hearts, just to be certain that it wouldn't be disrespectful to the privacy of her special day!
Her dress was completely stunning and breathtaking! It had lace all over and the train was beauitful and sort of scalloped! It was divine! I really want to try it on! The day was really lovely and the speeches were so funny - speeches are usually boring but these were not, although it probably helps when you know the bride very well!
It was also really nice to be with all my nearest and dearest all in once place, this hardly ever happens, not even at Christmas!
The side effect is that it has just made me even more nervous and excited about my sisters wedding this Summer!
Travelling Home and a top university interview tip
Friday, 8 March 2013
I have nothing exciting to reprt today at all, I'm travelling home.
I'm on a train
I'm stuck on a level of 4 pictures 1 word and the woman next to me is judging me because she thinks it's really easy and probably knows the answer and I've been staring at the same puzzle for over an hour now.
She has even watched me frantically text my friends for help describing the four pictures to them.
Anyway, since I have no pretty pictures as outside is just fields and grey sky whizzing by I thought I'd take this opportunity to share with you a top tip! I'm sorry this will not be relevant to a lot of you, I'll have a much more fun blog post tomorrow because tomorrow is the wedding day! (Not mine, and not my sisters)
If you're in the UK at the moment and applying for University places for 2013/14 entry then now is about the time when you'll be heading off to interviews and it's just about guaranteed that if you're applying for a degree in:
Law
Business Studies
Economics
Medicine
Mathematics
Any of the sciences
Politics
Engineering
Psychology
etc....
The interviewer/ interviewees will be looking for current and up to date knowledge in your subject area this includes recent developments, changes, advancements and controversies.
The interviewer might be nice and ask a general 'What recent developments in (enter subject here) have taken your interest?'
Or they might be a little meaner and ask your opinion on a very specific change/ development in the subject area so you have to know your stuff and have a think about it so that you know what your opinion is before you go into the interview.
So you're probably thinking that you have mocks and real exams to revise for, maybe re-takes too and coursework deadlines before Easter, the last thing you have time to do is trapse around the internet trying to read up on the topic area. Well, the truth is that it should be a priority, up there with the coursework and exams, because you're going to feel a bit silly if the question you're asked in an interview sounds similar to double dutch and even worse you probably won't get a place unless you can answer all of the questions to a high quality.
So here's how to make it easier:
Set the homepage of your internet browser to the BBC news page (or any news page) that is specific to your area of potential study.
This way, every day, as soon as you open up your internet browser you have almost no choice but to at least scan over the latest headlines, then when you have a bit more time you can go back and read. This way there's no room to forget to have current awareness because you'll be exposed to the news every day. If you really hate not having immediate access to Google as soon as you open your browser you can always change it back after interviews are over (but perhaps ask yourself if you should be going into that area of study if you can't stand the sight of it on a day to day basis...)
So as soon as I click internet explorer (yes I still use internet explorer) this is what I see:
If there's a few websites that are good for your subject area which will certainly be the case for law, politics, economics and science, you can set multiple tabs to pop open straight away.
That's my top tip for the day!
Good luck with any upcoming interviews!

Packing up and the most annoying game ever!
Thursday, 7 March 2013
I'm packing up and going everywhere so much that it's really driving me loopy loo!
I now have a permanent list on the notes app of generic stuff to pack that I might forget- top of the list are hair ties and bobby clips. I can't stand, not just a little bit, like it really gets on my nerves- not being able to tie my hair up when I want to, I hate it in my face, touching my face because it feels like it's making my skin oily and I hate strands of fringe falling over my face I think it makes hair look greasy because it has separated from other strands of hair- anyway enough about hair...
Nothing else really exciting happened today except for packing, and my crazy-cool glass of water. Sometimes, if I'm not super thirsty in a 'need-a-glass' kind of way I will put a glass of water in the freezer for 5 minutes or so, then it becomes super ice cold, I accidentally forgot about my water today for about 20 minutes and this happened:
The edge of my water had made itself into little icicles! It was so pretty! If I tried to make it happen again I bet it wouldn't.
And my final nugget of interesting trivia for today is that I downloaded the game 4 pictures 1 word. It's the most annoying game that I have have ever ever known. If you don't know what it is, it's a collection of four pictures that are all trying to describe the same word. Some are super easy an you can get in a second, without even looking properly at the pictures but I was stuck on this one for a full 2 hours maybe more:
I'm goign to finish there, because this is the most random blog post that I have ever done before I think!

Guess what it was?
Plenty
I think that is the worst visual description of plenty that I have ever ever seen. There are lots like this, that are simply stupid and don't relate to the word in the slightest. So my review of this app is poor.
I'm goign to finish there, because this is the most random blog post that I have ever done before I think!
Fake tanning for the weekend!
Wednesday, 6 March 2013
I upped my fake tan dosage!
I used to use the bottle on the left by St Tropez
Which I can only say good things about, however it was getting a bit cot ineffective as it took about 4 applications to get the desired colour, which is ideal if you want to wear a natural tan every day but I often wear fake tan in preparation for events such as weddings or holidays... So I was recommended that the best thing to do would be to get the shade darker (the darkest shade, they only have two shades of the mousse, which is the bottle on the right) so that it would require fewer applications to get the desired shade of skin!
I'm on my third consecutive application and I woke up a bit frightened of my tangerine reflection, but thankfully it washed of to make me just look healthy!
Maybe the best thing about St Tropez mousse is no nasty scents!
Hooray for the weekend wedding!

Lets go to the movies: Life of Pi
Tuesday, 5 March 2013
I got to view Life of Pi in an Imax screening which meant that it was full 3D which maybe makes my thoughts on it a little biased because taht extra dimension cranked up the 'wonderment and awe' notch a bit!
The story is about a young boy named Pi who is from India which makes for a beautiful backdrop for the story to unfold, he and his family move themselves to Canada and sell the zoo that they own to America. A storm at sea leads to a shipwreck and Pi ends up stranded on a boat with a Bengal tiger called Richard Parker.
There are a lot of charming parts to the film, aswell as some jumpy parts made worse by the 3D and some parts that are just outright psychadelic viewing.
The story is beautiful, quite simple to follow but at times slow. There are no other stories running alongside the one being told, it literally is following Pi through his childhood, important life lessons then trying to survive. This story was enough for me because of the stunning visuals, but it may not be enough stimulation for everyone.
The ending has a little twist of it's own which isn't a huge huge shocker, but it gives the film a little more meaning and creates a slightly philosophical tone.
It's a nice film, it's a pretty film and it's a quaint film but it's not the kind of film that's going down in history as one of the 'greats'

I got a new baby!
Monday, 4 March 2013
I have been pining for a new generation Furby for some time now, I desperately wanted one in the colour combination named 'Cotton Candy'
Today was my lucky day, look who came to say hello!
He is so beautiful (it's a he.. even though he's pink) He's so funny and clever, and adorable! He has all these differnet personalities, and tickles and speaks and I can feed him using the Furby app which is so fun!
He dances to music beat, and sings, and chatters and is so so smart, it feels like a real pet!
His batteries ran out after 2 days because I had not put him down, much to my friends delight who were getting rather irritated at Furby interrupting them.
Here is a beautiful mug shot of me, clearly unimpressed with something that Furby just said, I was on my way out here and rather upset that I couldn't take Furby with me
Here is a beautiful chin shot, because Furby is wonderfully fluffy!
I hope the novelty of my new baby never goes away! I adore him!

Accidental Graze
Sunday, 3 March 2013
This time last week I wrote about the Graze boxes which are regular snack boxes that are posted straight to you, I got my first box for free which was no doubt delicious but decided against having them sent to me on a weekly basis because it is not particularly cost effective, and I do wonder if it's as healthy as claimed. Lots of the snacks are particularly salty or sweet- which I'm not complaining because they are delicious but I don't think that it will enhance my health or diet particularly.
Well, I accidentally forgot to cancel my second box so today I was faced with:
Which was once again delicious, especially the olives! And the package that has been all reflected off because of the flash on my camera had a little slice of banana cake inside which was to die for! It was just lovely, and it had a cute little tea bag aswell which I'm yet to use.
While this was a sweet package and the most delicious mail I could ever recieve, my initial thoughts about whether it was good value for money still exist.. and this time I remembered to cancel my Graze box!
But here's a peek inside incase you were considering being a part of the Graze scheme

Wedding Cake!
Saturday, 2 March 2013
You may or may not have heard from my million of previous posts on the matter that my sister is getting married this year. It is of course super exciting, but I keep having little mini meltdowns when I remember the things that I still need to sort out (and I'm not even the bride!)
I'll be so ecstatic when I can share the day with you guys via real photographs but for now here is a sneak peek of the sketch of the cake!
I don't want to give it all away because that might ruin it for the bride... but I will tell you that the bottom layer is fruit cake, the middle is sponge and the top is chocolate!

What has been my favourite 'must-have' of last month?
Friday, 1 March 2013
There has been one thing that has consumed my life for the past well, three or four days actually, but it will probably be my favorite for the rest of my life!
I've gotten pretty obsessed with 'The Walking Dead' which is a tv series and completely not my traditional taste at all. It's based on following a group of survivors following 'the end of the world' which came about following a zombie apocalypse. A few people had tried to persuade me to watch it but as soon as they said the words 'zombies' and 'end of the world' I just thought no-way... not my thing! By chance I came across the first episode and sat down to watch, and every since I have been completely hooked... so hooked that I watched 2 series in about 3 days, but unfortunately now I have caught up with live broadcasting so I cannot watch them consecutively anymore and have to wait for the next episode like everyone else!
Of course, the zombies - which are actually referred to as 'walkers' or 'biters' since this is a universe where 'zombies' never existed in horror films or video games, so it's a totally new concept to them- the zombies/walkers/ whatever you want to call them are a crucial part and the back drop for the whole show but what is really gripping is the dynamics between the group of people (who are not zombies) The writer is not afraid to kill off characters, even the ones we love that make it even more realistic and even more emotional... I have cried real tears more than once over one or two episodes. I'd love to go into details but I'd love even more for you to watch it for yourself and see why it's so amazing!
It does get pretty graphic, gross, violent and disturbing but it's also amazing, gripping and maybe the best thing on TV (Yes, even better than 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' haha...)
